Expectations are Great, Hotels Will Be Full
This year, there is very good news coming from Turkish tourism, which has almost hit the bottom in previous years. Based on this, the tourism world can make predictions. For example, 5 million Russian tourists are expected to come to Antalya this year, and the President of Kemer Municipality and Kemer Region Promotion Foundation (KETAV) said that they aim to host only 1.5 million of these 5 million. They announced that they made this prediction based on the early reservations made.
Last year, a total of 12 million tourists came to Antalya.
On the other hand, tourists have already started to arrive in Muğla's Marmaris district. The first tourist group to arrive consists of Iranian tourists. Among the Iranians who come on holiday for Nevruz, there are mostly tourists with professions such as doctors and engineers. Approximately 1200 tourists were accommodated in hotels in the district, including at least 3-star hotels.
Iranian tourists were welcomed by the Chairman of the Marmaris Regional Executive Board of the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB) and announced that they aim to host around 35 thousand Iranian tourists in Marmaris during the tourism season.
Further good news came from İzmir. According to the February management report of the Aegean Tourist Enterprises and Accommodation Association (ETİK), foreign visitors to İzmir increased by 75 percent to 52 thousand 253 people. The reports also indicate a significant recovery in tourism from Germany, the Netherlands, England, Ukraine and France. This suggests that European visitors have missed Türkiye and that Europe is looking towards Türkiye this tourism year.
